For many years working for ‘Blue Chip’ companies I was gaining experience for my ultimate ambition – to run my own business.
Taking time out to plan and work on renovating my old garage (as seen in the photo) I felt the need to rely on other people wa
s alien to me and wanted a challenge that was down to me alone.
Everyone has a burning desire and mine was to fit wood burning stoves - Flus 4 U was born.
Unfortunately at the same time my son, Hugh, had a life threatening accident that changed everything, and he was in hospital for five months. However, I felt that the new business would provide the motivation to encourage Hugh with his recovery and a lot of planning was done round his hospital bed.
Hugh had only been out of hospital three days when we fitted our first stove together and we haven’t looked back since.
The business has gone from strength to strength and several hundred installations later using a wide variety of access equipment from ladders and scaffolding to cherry pickers and cranes we have only been stopped from fitting once – because we were snowed in and couldn’t get out of the drive!
